Rape - Meadowsweet Close, West Barnes, Merton - 6/8/2026

On Thursday, 6 August at 23:34hrs officers and the London Ambulance Service responded to a report of rape on Meadowsweet Close, West Barnes.  The time frame for the incident spans approximately 2140 hours to 23:34 hours.    

A woman aged 19 was taken to hospital and has since been discharged. She continues to receive support from specialist officers. A crime scene remains in place in the area.

Urgent enquiries are ongoing. At this early stage no arrests have been made. The local community can expect to see an increased police presence over the next few days.

Acting Detective Inspector Kyla Mulley, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are working at pace to identify and locate those responsible, including speaking to witnesses and reviewing available evidence, such as CCTV in the area.

“I would encourage anyone who remembers seeing anything out of the ordinary near Meadowsweet Close or the nearby playing fields to come forward to police. Any piece of information could be vital to our investigation.”
